Reindeer and huskies in one day
Arctic Circle Snowmobile Park runs three versions of its farm visit. On each you drive your own reindeer sledge for 500 m, receive a “Reindeer Sledge Driver’s License” and ride 500 m behind the huskies, and reindeer herders talk about the herding life. The 6-hour day above adds the snowmobile; the Santa Claus Village day swaps it for a soup lunch and free time in the village, with a 10-minute mini-snowmobile ride for children under 150 cm. The short version is the farm alone at the Reindeer Manor, a 20-minute drive from the centre, with transport only on the option that includes it.
Driving the snowmobile needs a valid class B driving licence, and two adults share one machine. Children and adults without a licence ride on a sled behind the guide’s snowmobile. The driver carries a self-liability of EUR 950 per person per snowmobile, or EUR 150 with EUR 15 of insurance bought on site.
Easy Travel's reindeer and husky safari, sold on Viator for US$249 (checked November 2026), gives the dogs more room: a 2 km husky ride after a 500 m reindeer ride, with hotel pickup and drop-off in Rovaniemi. Thermal outerwear is not included. The operator prices in euros, so the dollar figure moves with the exchange rate.

Huskies by day, the lights by night
Northern Future Oy's day comes in two parts. The morning picks you up from your accommodation for a 500 m husky ride and a 400 m reindeer ride, and ends around 12:30 at your hotel or Santa Claus Village. The evening section runs from 20:00 to 23:30: a drive to two aurora spots, then a BBQ in a kota with sausages, marshmallows and hot berry tea. Each car takes at most 8, and the tour needs at least 2 people to run.
Seeing the lights is not part of the deal: “There is no guarantee of seeing the northern lights as it is a natural phenomenon.” The Finnish Meteorological Institute gives midnight, and a couple of hours before and after, as the typical time for auroral displays, so a search that ends at 23:30 covers the start of that window.
